SMART CITY

How can we create a space where executive officers and visitors can imagine how future cities might be?

To generate valuable insights and futuristic hypothesis we invited more than 50 managers from the industry to a 2-day´s workshop as a kickoff for our research phase.

In the co-creative workshop 13 theses were developed that defined the basis for our conception phase.

How to experiencea whole city on only 130 square meter?

Based on given architectural limits we developed a concept together that leads through a story of a daily travel experience that included different touchpoints of services, advertisements and artificial intelligences to transmit an experience of a futuristic city

5 month from first ideas to full implementation.

As User Experience Designer in such a wide context, my task was to challenge the team and generate a storyline together that generates an immerse experience for future visitors of the gallery. This gave me the chance to play out my potential to face complex topics, create user journeys, think three dimensional and work from a very holistic concept to the last detail.

The city starts at home.

Based on the vigorously conceptional focus to detail of Dirk Hessenbruch and me the smart city had to start at home and end there after a busy day. This led to an additional side project to recreate the area of the future home of the gallery.

Citizens give valuable data to develop and maintain complex multi modal transportation.

One station of our storyline is called “Mobility Hub”. The hub is the location where transportation services will merge into seamless multi modal operator interactions that serve the citizens with the fastest and most comfortable route.

Every citizen generates valuable data with every route he takes.

Mayors and public services can use this data in the future and control, maintain and develop a city based on their citizens. Artificial Intelligence will be able to predict fields of service in energy, traffic and security.

On this station you will be able to experience it from a customer perspective and in addition have the ability to look behind the curtains of a smart city and its data. All levels of interaction and interface have been designed by me as well as managed with development.

The smart city of the Telekom Design Gallery is making the city of tomorrow accessible and leads through an interacting metropolis. The tangible illustration allows to discover new connections.

Visitors intuitively respond to questions, come up with new ideas, and make cross-connections. As part of our business interactions, new projects are born here. Within the company the topic of smart city is given new priorities.

„ Die Ansprüche sind gestiegen in Richtung digital steuerbare Medien oder Lichtstimmungen. Und sie werden wachsen und sich zudem auf weitere Umgebungen wie das Auto oder den öffentlichen Nahverkehr ausdehnen.“
